Fellow Libertarians,
With our State Convention business session on February 29th coming up quickly, I wanted to reach out to go over qualifiers for delegates at the state level as well as for the 2020 LNC National Convention in Austin.
Delegates for the state convention must become so at either our in person or virtual caucus. We will release county sites shortly and have a window open 02/06-02/08 to caucus virtually via the LPIA website.
Individuals planning to caucus virtually must register to vote Libertarian by 02/01/20, in person caucuses will have the ability to register voters day of on site.
Delegates must be registered to vote as Libertarian and register for the LPIA Convention to be credentialed to vote for party business. Any non-Libertarians will not be credentialed as delegates and their votes struck from our presidential straw poll.
If you need to re-register to vote as a Libertarian, please follow this link to do so online.
National Convention Delegates will be nominated and elected at our State Convention. Per LPIA bylaws, to qualify a delegate candidate must be registered to vote in Iowa as a Libertarian for at least six consecutive months from the convention date, in this case August 29th 2019. This is the same qualification for party central committee office. Iowa will have eleven delegate and eleven alternate delegate spots at the National Convention.
Thank you, we look forward to seeing you at our caucus and convention come February!
