Libertarian Party of Iowa to Host First in the Nation Caucus in 2024

Des Moines, IA – The Libertarian Party of Iowa is excited to announce that it will hold its 2024 Caucus and Presidential Straw Poll on January 15th, 2024, aligning with the date chosen by the other two major parties in the state. This historic event, occurring on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, will honor the spirit of the First in the Nation Iowa Caucus, which are known for their small, intimate gatherings in each county.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to kick off the presidential nomination process for the Libertarian Party,” said Jules Cutler, Chair of the Libertarian Party of Iowa. “As the party of liberty, it’s fitting that Iowa should lead the way in giving voice to the millions of Americans who are frustrated with the two-party duopoly.”

In a move that underscores the party’s commitment to grassroots democracy, the Libertarian Party of Iowa will join the ranks of the Republican and Democratic parties in hosting caucus on the same date. This synchronicity allows Iowans of all political affiliations to actively participate in the presidential selection process, fostering an environment of inclusivity and civic engagement.

“This is an exciting moment for liberty enthusiasts in Iowa,” said Cutler. “By holding our caucus on the same day as the other two major parties, we are not only respecting the tradition of the Iowa Caucus but also amplifying the importance of individual voices in our political process. Our local, inclusive events reflect our commitment to genuine representation and a bottom-up approach to politics.”

The Libertarian Party of Iowa invites all registered libertarians, those interested in exploring libertarian ideals, and members of the media to join them on January 15th, 2024, for a day of meaningful discussions and the opportunity to take part in shaping the future of liberty-minded politics.
