About the Candidate
ToyA Johnson grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1993. She holds several degrees from DMACC and professional educational programs such as Alison, Heartland AEA, NAMI as well as participating in Continuing Legal Educational courses for her consulting business. ToyA is a passionate Libertarian and is a consistent presence with the party, running for office previously in the past and as Secretary of the Libertarian Party of Iowa State Central Committee.
Why Are You Running
Overall ToyA says she will be willing to introduce and support legislation that maximizes both economic and personal freedoms and minimizes government interference. Johnson believes a smaller, more efficient and effective government is the key to turning things around in Iowa.
“We must remove the barriers to self-sufficiency and to do that we must be innovative and seek major reforms in many areas of government and its agencies. We must also seek to protect the individual rights, as the state’s motto demands. T.O.Y.A. used as an acronym stands for Tax Solutions, Outreach, Youthful Initiatives, Advocacy; all areas that I am passionate about and devoted to work on for Iowans.”
