An attempt to deny ballot access to Libertarian candidate for US House District 3 Bryan Jack Holder by a member of the Republican Party of Iowa was withdrawn Monday morning.
An objection to the nomination of Holder was scheduled to be heard at 10:30am, but the objection was withdrawn just minutes before a meeting was scheduled to start.
“After yet another attempt by Iowa Republicans to silence a large group of Iowans in order to gain power, Bryan Jack Holder, the Libertarian Party, and Iowa as a whole emerge victorious,” says Libertarian Party of Iowa Chair Mike Conner Jr. “Time and time again, Bryan has shown that he is a candidate for the people and exemplifies the Iowa motto; “Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain.” The Libertarian Party of Iowa is thrilled that citizens in Iowa’s 3rd district will have a principled choice this on the ballot this November in Bryan; just one of a number of Libertarian candidates across the state that will be giving liberty and freedom a voice this fall.”
With the objection drawn, Holder will remain on the ballot to face Democratic incumbent Cindy Axne and Republican challenger David Young as a candidate for Iowa’s 3rd District US House in the November 3rd General Election
