Absentee ballots will be sent on September 29th which is also the first day to vote the Election Office. Over 6,500 requests already.

Every vote a Libertarian candidate receives, or does not receive, matters. That is why we ask all of our supporters to remember voting starts on September 29, 2016, and ends whenever the voter submits his or her ballot. If a ballot is mailed in on September 30, 2016, and that voter did not know about the Libertarian choice, that vote cannot be retrieved. We ask you to be sure to talk with friends and family about our candidates and to help volunteer as early as you can. (Thank you to all who have volunteered already.)

And, if you know somebody who has not voted absentee by November 8, 2016, please help to make sure that person gets to the polls on the last day to vote because support the next day will not count in the election.

Let’s take a look at Iowa Senate District 38 where Libertarian John George is seeking the seat.  This district is spread across three counties. In 2014, absentee votes counted for almost 45% of the total votes cast in one of those counties: Benton – 30.9%, Iowa – 34.8%, and Poweshiek – 44.8%.

In Polk County where several Libertarians are seeking to represent their districts in the Iowa House, absentee ballots counted for 37.6% of the vote in 2014.
