Thank you to Iowa Public Radio, particularly the River-to-River program. The program reached out to all the candidates on the ballot for U.S. Senate, providing each of them approximately 30 minutes of air time. Here is a link to the interview with Libertarian Charles (Chuck) Aldrich. In contrast, Iowa Public Television continues to see only red and blue in its coverage of candidates. When the incumbent decided not to debate on the Iowa Press program, the show went forward with only the Democrat challenger, ignoring Aldrich and the two independents.
Little coverage anywhere has been given to the 3rd Congressional District candidates. On October 6, 2016, the two independent candidates and Libertarian candidate Bryan Jack Holder held their own debate in Des Moines. The three candidates have planned other such debates elsewhere in the district.
