Who needs a debate?

Viewers of the first debate authorized by the bi-partisan Commission on Presidential Debates will only hear from two candidates. In contrast, the League of Women Voters, the group that used to run the debates, asked thousands of candidates across the country to provide answers to a questionnaire. Then the LWV put the answers on the Internet. Thus, with the LWV’s Vote411 Voter Guide, voters can also compare how Libertarian Party candidates respond to a series of questions. This includes not just the Libertarian candidate for president, but also several Libertarian candidates running for offices in Iowa.

The topics for the presidential debate to be held in Hempstead, New York, were announced yesterday. They are America’s Direction, Achieving Prosperity, and Securing America. These are topics on which Gary Johnson has definite opinions. LPIA.org is planning to do a live blog during the debate on Monday, September 26, 2016, from 8:00-9:30 p.m. Central Time.
