Candidates and Campaigns Embrace Outreach

Labor Day has passed and Election Day is nearing. Libertarian candidates have spent the past few months knocking on doors, participating in community parades, and gathering volunteers, among other activities. In the next few weeks, Iowans will vote on the direction they want their counties, state, and country to be headed. We would like Iowans to be able to hear directly from the Libertarian candidates for federal office in debates, but that is in the hands of independent polling organizations. (We are glad to report at least one recent poll was including our presidential candidate by name early in the sequence of questions.) Iowans can hear directly from our candidates for the state House and Senate in community forums.

There will be several opportunities to learn more about the Libertarian Party and its candidates in the days ahead. Some of the places our candidates and volunteers are scheduled to be, include:

September 17: Beaverdale Fall Festival parade in Des Moines

September 23-24: Quad Cities PrideFest in Davenport

September 24-25: Latino Heritage Festival in Des Moines

September 25: Saydel Homecoming parade in Polk County

September 26: River to River interview with U.S. Senate candidate Chuck Aldrich (12:00-12:30 p.m. on Iowa Public Radio)

October 6: Iowa Working Family and Kids Forum for House Dist. 38 in Ankeny

October 9: Madison County Covered Bridge Festival parade in Winterset
