The Libertarian Party is on the ballot. Yes, that includes our candidates for president and vice president, Governors Gary Johnson and William Weld. That might not seem such a big deal considering there are 10 sets of people running in Iowa for the top office, and 8 of those candidate sets usually get clumped together as “Other.”
But, and it is a big but, we are the only party besides the two statist parties also to have candidates seeking other offices. We have:
- a candidate for U.S. Senate,
- and one Congressional candidate, in the 3rd District.
- 6 candidates running for Iowa Senate, at least one in each of the Congressional districts, and
- 12 candidates running for Iowa House seats.

A vote for the Libertarian candidate is not a protest vote. It is a message that maximum freedom, minimum government is the direction for America and Iowa.
We need your help to spread the word about the Libertarian difference, not only the difference in how government should be run, but also why voting for the Libertarian candidate will help bring change. All of our candidates have challengers with the down-ticket contests having as many as 5 candidates seeking the office.
Thank you for your continued, and new, support.
Comment from Keith Laube, chair of the LPIA:
We look forward to your support in 2016 to advance individual rights and freedoms, whether by volunteering and/or financial help. Proud to be a Libertarian!
