C-Span spoke with Nicholas Sarwark, chair of the Libertarian Party on May 26th prior to the start of the national convention.  Here is a link to that interview.  C-Span is also covering the national convention and will air the presidential debate being held at the convention at 7:00 p.m. Central Time tonight, May 28, 2016.

The vice presidential debate was held on May 27th. At the convention, delegates give tokens to candidates they support. Candidates with the most tokens are then allowed into the debate. Participating were ex-Marine Larry Sharp, former Massachusetts Governor William Weld, Tennessean Will Coley and attorney Alicia Dearn. Dearn is familiar to members of the LPIA as she assisted with a presidential ballot access issue in the state in 2012. Reason has a report on the debate here.

Keith Laube, chair of the LPIA, reports from Orlanda that the Iowa delegation, at a full allotment of 11 members, is seated in the front row on the convention floor. He said Lily Tang Williams, a candidate for the U.S. Senate seat from Colorado, spoke to the convention this morning. Growing up in Communist China, Laube said it was interesting to hear her talk of her experiences with socialism.
