LIBERTARIANS RUNNING FOR IOWA HOUSE & SENATE

Several Iowans have received the LPIA nomination for House and Senate campaigns. You can see if Libertarian is running in your district on the Candidates page on this website.

Do not be discouraged if you do not hear of the Libertarian candidate through the news media. Some newspapers and electronic media have covered the candidates, but many news sources and polls will not include candidates until they have registered as a candidate for office. Under Iowa law, Libertarians are not allowed to register until August 1, 2016.  The Democrats and Republicans you may hear about running for office registered in March of this year.

The general election will be on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Absentee voting is scheduled to start Thursday, September 29, 2016. The Libertarian Party of Iowa encourages you to learn more about your Libertarian candidates and asks you to cast your vote in support of our candidates.

And for those waiting to hear who the Libertarian nominees for president and vice president will be, those candidates will be selected at the Libertarian Party national convention to be held in Orlando, Florida, later this month. We will announce the candidates here!
