LPIA 2016 State Convention Details Announced

The LPIA state convention will be held:
Saturday, March 19th (9 am to 5 pm)
Clarion Hotel & Convention Center
525 33rd Avenue SW
Cedar Rapids, Iowa
There will be a free social event Friday evening at the hotel.
The business meeting will be Saturday morning 9 to 11:30 am and is free to paid LPIA members. During the business meeting the party will nominate candidates for state offices/U.S. Congressional seats, elect delegates to the national convention, and vote on proposed changes to the LPIA Constitution and Bylaws.
Speakers and Presidential candidates will speak in the afternoon. The keynote speaker will be Yuri Maltsev, a former member of the Soviet economic reform team for President Gorbachev. Yuri defected to the U.S. from the former Soviet Union in 1989 and is a professor at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. There will also be speakers from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). We are anticipating several Presidential candidates to attend. A preference ballot for the Presidential nominee will be held.
Attending the state convention is a great way to meet candidates, party leaders and fellow libertarians.
Convention cost is $40/person for LPIA members and $45/person for non members. This includes lunch and we need reservations by Monday, March 14th. If you choose not to have lunch at the hotel, the Convention cost is $20/person for LPIA members and $25/person for non members.
