Bob Smith of Minnesota, Jackie Bradbury of Missouri, and Steve Givot of Illinois, all gave presentations on their state parties. After lunch Don Racheter of the Public Interest Institute gave a talk on his organization and talked about the Iowa Constitutional Amendments up for vote in June.
A buy the mic fundraiser was held.
Constitution and Bylaw changes were voted on.
New excom members were voted on. Mark Nelson was elected as state chair, Roger Fritz for Vice Chair, no person was nominated or accepted the Secretary position, Tim Hird was elected Treasurer, and Christopher McDonald, Kevin Litten, Lawerence Wittstruck, Randy Herod, Christy Welty, Michael Ryan, and Paul Damon were selected as at large execom members.
David Davis, Mary Dengler, and David Smith were selected as Judical Committee members.
The tourism initiatives, including a state funded NASCAR track won the Golden Crock award.
An executive committee meeting was convened. Past Execom members signed the previous copy of the Constitution and Bylaws. Fritz will update the copy with the new changes, and submit copies to the execom members.
The matchbook program was discussed, with matchbooks being distributed to members.
A discussion was held as to what the party should set its sights on near term. Efforts are going to be made to support the mesures in the June election.
A discussion was had to what should be done to recognize a local affiliate. Those wishing to be approved, should submit any relevant information to execom members.
